1. Through the Old Mutual 21 Acts of Goodness which unfortunately failed to materialize, loveLife received a request to make a presentation to the Barolong Boo Seleka, Queen Gaboilelwe Moroka, regarding possible partnership with the Queen. Plans are underway to invite national leadership to the Queen for a formal presentation.
2. Baseline assessment study for the Boshoff project has been completed and will be shared with exco in the near future.
3. loveLife has requested Professor Lochner Marais, from the University of the Free State, to present the study on Sexual and Reproductive Health of adolescents in the Free State at the 11th AIDS conference which will be in Durban between 19 and 23 June 2023. The research stems from a collaborative project between loveLife and the Centre for Development Support at the UFS, involving researchers from the University of Cincinnati, Purdue University, the University of Houston, and Emory University.
4. Discussions with DOH Mangaung District are at an advanced stage to have a sessional nurse for the Botshabelo Y Centre vitality room. We are hoping that they will offer SRHR services to the young people, starting in June 2023 as part of the youth month activities.
5. Together with Gauteng and North West, a joint proposal for the M4L 2 day event has been submitted to Harmony mines as part of the June month youth activities. The activities will start with a build up addressing Nutrition, Drugs & Substance Abuse, Teen Pregnancy and Menstrual health. Day 2 will start with a march, aerobics and sports activities. SRHR services will also be offered.
