The Trust is looking to recruit a Senior Manager: Finance to do end-to-end Finance Operations, Internal controls, Tax, Auditing, Reporting. This function seeks to provide a strategic and professional financial management and administration system that is in line with loveLife objectives. To implement financial policies in the areas of finance operations, cash management and fixed assets.

  • The successful applicant would be required to fulfil the following primary functions in a professional manner and with technical excellence:
  • Finance Operations and Reporting-Preparation of Annual Financial Statements in line with IFRS after annual external audit review
  • Review and analyse all accounts for correctness and data integrity
  • Review and authorise all journals for posting in ERP in line with DOA
  • Review and authorise all GL reconciliations and ensure all Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled monthly
  • Sign off monthly Trial Balance to Management Accountant for preparation of monthly management accounts and other reports
  • Effective debtor and creditor management and reporting monthly
  • Participate in Business Plan drafting of own section and Reviewing the plans with the Programmes Directorate
  • Ensuring that Donor funding is received/collected on time after all reports are done in line with donor requirements
  • Liaising with all departments on supplier payment prioritisation where these are beyond the 90 days credit terms
  • Focal point for all bank accounts decisions and treasury requirements
  • Monitor expenditure by departments to isolate that of capital nature and capitalise
  • Review and sign off Fixed Assets register reconciliation to GL monthly
  • Ensure that capitalisation, disposals and depreciation transactions are captured accurately in GL
  • Ensure that Fixed Assets are verified periodically and results of such verifications captured in the Asset Register
  • Ensure all direct and indirect tax payments are done timeously to avoid penalties and non-compliance
  • Review and sign off VAT reconciliation monthly, and annually
  • Review and submit all Tax Returns to Revenue Collection office and resolve related matters with regards to tax payment and refunds
  • Effective management of internal and external audits
  • Ensure all Audit and Risk requirements are adhered to
  • Timely responding to all audit queries in area of responsibility and coordinating all external audit response throughout the organisation
  • Ensure that the organization internal control system is functioning as intended
  • Work closely with Internal Audit and CFO on risks identification and control
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements
  • Maintain all financial policies and procedures in line with the Audit and Risk Committee recommendations
  • Effective management of direct staff reportees

Suitable candidates will need to satisfy the following requirements:

  • B Com degree/Honours with accounting as a major, CA,ACCA/CIMA or similar. MBA or Post Grad
  • 8 years financial or management accounting experience, working with a team
  • Knowledge of fund accounting, project accounting including and reporting requirements to major Government agencies, is an advantage
  • A keen interest in HIV/AIDS prevention
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft packages
  • Practical Knowledge of Pastel Evolution will be an advantage
  • Technical Accounting statement in line with SA GAAP, IFRS, PFMA and Non-Profit Accounting
  • Experience in dealing with government Department
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes
  • Good understanding of the procurement process including negotiation with third parties
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures

Total remuneration package: R600 000 CTC p.a
